Game Overview

Flee the Facility is a Roblox asymmetrical survival horror game created by A.W. Apps (Andrew "MrWindy" Willeitner), inspired by Dead by Daylight. Each round pits one Beast against up to four Survivors in a tense cat-and-mouse chase across industrial facilities.

  • 5-player rounds: 1 Beast vs up to 4 Survivors
  • 15-minute time limit per round with a 15-second Survivor head start
  • Survivors hack computers to unlock exit doors; the Beast hunts and freezes them
  • Earn credits and XP after each round to unlock cosmetic hammers and gemstones
  • Available on PC, mobile, Xbox, and PlayStation

The Two Roles

Survivor

Survivors must hack enough computers to power the exit doors, then escape before time runs out or everyone gets frozen. Teamwork, stealth, and map knowledge are essential.

Beast

The Beast patrols the facility, knocks Survivors unconscious with a hammer, ropes them, and places them in Freeze Pods until they are fully frozen. Capture every Survivor to win.

How to Play

  1. 1

    Intermission & Map Vote

Players gather in Camp Lapis. After 30 seconds, a map is selected by vote and players are assigned roles randomly.

  2. 2

    Head Start

Survivors spawn on the map with a 15-second head start. The Beast waits in the Beast Cave and selects a power before being released.

  3. 3

    Hack Computers

Survivors find glowing computers and press E to hack. Complete skill-check prompts correctly — errors alert the Beast with a loud noise.

  4. 4

    Unlock Exits

Once enough computers are hacked, both exit doors unlock. Pull the lever to open an exit — it takes 12 seconds. Exits cannot be closed once opened.

  5. 5

    Round End

Survivors win by escaping; the Beast wins by freezing all Survivors. Credits and XP are awarded based on performance.

Computers required = number of Survivors + 1. In a full 5-player lobby (4 Survivors), you need to hack 5 computers total — shared across the team.

If no one escapes or gets frozen within 15 minutes, the round ends in a draw with reduced rewards.

Survivor Guide

Survival depends on stealth, efficiency, and teamwork. New players often get caught because they run in open areas, leave doors open, or fail computer skill checks.

Close Doors Behind You

An open door reveals your path to the Beast. Close every door you pass through to force the Beast to guess your route.

Hack Strategically

Start with computers far from the Beast. Save computers near exits for last so you can escape immediately after the final hack.

Use Sound Cues

Listen for Beast footsteps, hammer swings, and computer typing. Audio awareness often matters more than raw speed.

Split Up

Divide hacking across different map areas so the Beast cannot camp a single computer cluster.

Hide Smartly

Use lockers, bushes, leaf piles, and snow piles to hide from Seer. Crouch behind objects to break line of sight.

Manage the Map

Press M to check your location, computer positions, and exit doors. Locate exits early in every round.

Freeze Pod Rescue

When a Survivor is placed in a Freeze Pod, their health drains until frozen. Another Survivor can free them by interacting with the pod (F). The first rescue each round grants 20 credits and 100 XP. Only rescue when the Beast is far away — a failed rescue often leads to two frozen players.

Beast Guide

Winning as the Beast requires map control, prediction, and efficient captures. Patrol computer locations and listen for hacking errors.

1

Patrol Computers

Computers glow when being hacked. Check high-traffic computer rooms first — Survivors must visit them to win.

2

Knock Out Survivors

Hit Survivors with your hammer (M1). They ragdoll for about 28 seconds and can flop to stall. Act quickly to rope them.

3

Rope and Freeze

Walk over a downed Survivor to rope them, then carry them to a blue Freeze Pod and interact to trap them. Stay away from the pod for health drain to activate.

4

Control Doors

Use doors to trap Survivors in dead-end rooms. Open doors faster with Stalker power for surprise attacks.

5

Do Not Camp Pods

Camping one Freeze Pod lets other Survivors hack freely. Patrol the map and use pods as bait only when you can defend multiple areas.

Freeze Pod Mechanics

Each pod can only hold one frozen Survivor permanently. Once fully frozen, a Survivor returns to Camp Lapis and that pod cannot be reused. The Beast must maintain distance for the drain effect — standing too close pauses it.

Beast Powers

During the 15-second head start, the Beast selects one of three powers. If none is chosen, Runner is assigned by default. Activate with Q (PC), Y (Xbox), or the power button on mobile.

Power Effect Best For Duration
Runner Large speed boost. Jumping and hitstun disabled during use. Shorter hammer cooldown. Open maps with long sightlines — Airport, Facility_0 ~3 seconds
Stalker Silences heartbeat, footsteps, and gemstone glow. Faster door opening. Jump and hit without movement penalty. Stealth ambushes — Homestead, dark maps, multi-level areas ~3 seconds
Seer After a 3-second delay, reveals non-hidden Survivors with icons above their heads. Seen Survivors grant a speed boost. When Survivor locations are unknown — Research Center, large maps Single activation

Hacker is an upcoming fourth power announced for a future update. It is not yet selectable in-game.

All Maps

Map knowledge is the single biggest skill gap between new and veteran players. Each of the 15 standard maps has unique layouts, vent networks, and computer spawn patterns.

Airport

Medium

S: Many rooms and hiding spots — split across terminal wings.

Pro Techniques

Advanced movement separates experienced players from beginners. These techniques are widely used in competitive lobbies and do not require exploits.

Fast Venting

Survivor

Back up to a vent, hold crawl, do a 180-degree turn, then release crawl. You slide through in roughly half the normal time.

Double Jump

Survivor

Hold crouch, release, then immediately spam jump. Reach high crates, rooftops on Homestead, and shortcuts unavailable with a normal jump.

Wallbang

Beast

The Beast's hammer swing passes through thin walls and floors. Hit Survivors on the other side without entering the room — especially effective on Homestead.

Double Kill Timing

Beast

Jump immediately after hitting a Survivor to reduce downtime between attacks. Lets you chain captures faster during multi-Survivor encounters.

Window Running

Beast

On maps like Facility_0, run through windows from elevated surfaces without jumping to maintain speed. Avoids the slow jump animation.

Sprint-Jump Release

Beast

The Beast cannot jump while sprinting (Q). Release Q before jumping to avoid getting stuck during chases.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any active promo codes?

No. As of 2026, Flee the Facility does not have a code redemption system. Beware of fake code websites. Earn cosmetics by playing and opening crates with credits.

How many computers need to be hacked?

The formula is Survivor count + 1. With 4 Survivors, hack 5 computers total. The whole team shares progress — any Survivor can hack any computer.

Is this the same as 10 Player Flee?

No. 10 Player Flee is a separate fan-made experience with 8 Survivors and 2 Beasts. The official game by A.W. Apps supports 5 players (4 Survivors + 1 Beast).

Can the Beast jump while sprinting?

No. Release the sprint key (Q on PC) before jumping. This catches many new Beast players during chases.

What happens when a Survivor is fully frozen?

They are eliminated from the round and sent back to Camp Lapis. That Freeze Pod cannot be used again. The Beast must freeze all Survivors to win.

Do hammer skins give gameplay advantages?

No. All hammers and gemstones are purely cosmetic. Rarity affects appearance and collectibility only.

How do I level up faster?

Stay active every round. Hack computers as a Survivor, capture quickly as the Beast, and complete rescues. Winning rounds grants bonus XP.
